Acid Contours

”Acid Contours” är Konx-om-Pax:s första försök att skapa en visuell och musikalisk målning inspirerad av Wassily Kandinsky och Philip Glass.

”Jag byggde det visuella feedbacksystemet i TouchDesigner så att olika frekvenser påverkar animationens rörelser i nutid. Jag fokuserade på att ändra tempo och taktart hela tiden för att skapa intressanta skiftningar i bildens flöde. Jag byggde ett enkelt sekvenseringsställ i Ableton för att kontrollera mina Prophet- och Moog-synthar för att fånga ljudet live.” - Tom Sholefield/Konx-om-Pax

Konx-om-Pax är den multidisciplinära artisten Tom Sholefield som är baserad i Glasgow, Skottland. Sedan 2005 har han varit art director för projekt för Warp Records, Hyperdub och R&S Records. Tom har också släppt flera album för UK-baserade labeln Planet Mu, och även på hans egen Display Copy. Senast släpptes EPn ”Cabin Fever” på italienska etiketten Superpang.

“Acid Contours” is Konx-om-Paxs’ first venture into creating a visual music painting inspired by the work of Wassily Kandinsky and Philip Glass.

“I build the visual feedback system in TouchDesigner so that different frequency ranges influence the movement of the animation in realtime. I focused on constantly shifting tempos and time signatures to create interesting shifts in the flow of the visuals. I built a simple sequencing rack in Ableton to control my Prophet and Moog synths to capture the audio live.” - Tom Sholefield/Konx-om-Pax.

Konx-om-Pax is mutli disciplinary artist Tom Scholefield based in Glasgow Scotland. Since 2005 he has art directed projects for Warp Records, Hyperdub and R&S Records. Tom also has released several albums for UK label Planet Mu alongside his own imprint Display Copy. Most recently the ”Cabin Fever" EP with the Italian Superpang imprint.
